I have said it a million times…the future is all about data and analytics. If you don’t think so, then plow through your Facebook feed and look to see what is being advertised to you…it is exactly the things that you have been researching on your computer. Coincidence….I don’t think so. Everything we do today is being counted, monitored, researched, tracked and reported. The world is a different place and providing stats on what individuals are doing is the name of the game in corporate America. Same goes for healthcare as well. Every test, procedure, prescription, activity, diagnosis, etc. is being logged, tracked and analyzed to better manage “patient health”….or at least that’s what we are being told. In reality, it is to better manage costs with an added benefit of improving patient health. All current healthcare IT companies are looking to capture data, leverage data, report on data, improve data and ultimately streamline data for predictive purposes and analysis. Look for the most successful future healthcare IT companies to be wrapped up in the data analytics world. It is coming ( if it isn’t already here), so get ready.
